The viking is awake

The Vikings lining up in a 4-5-1 with focus on moving as unit in both directions early started creating chances from the get go with good link up play between attacking trio of domino, Albert and Meli - while the duties we well taken care of by a hard working central midfield and rock solid centre back pairing. The opener came from a creative play and powerful finish by domino , while the second was a well taken goal by Albert when released down the left, before vets coach lasse lund sealed the deal with about 20 minutes to go. In fairness to Hibs they created some good chances were close to leveling on several occasions with especially Max creating havoc. All In all a fairly contested match - and all the best to hibs going forward .

Skid Continues

Hibs went down 3-0 to Vikings but it was a much improved showing on Saturday. Just like last year against Vikings, Hibs lost a key player to a head injury. This time it was Boycey, making his first start of the season, who was caught right on the brow by an enthusiastic young forward after only a couple of minutes and that forced a change. It unsettled Hibs and while it was 0-0 at the water break, Vikings had the better of the opening period. Ref Alex finally put some shoes on his feet to help him follow the play and immediately after the break, Hibs gave the ball away cheaply on the edge of the area and Domino took full advantage with a well hit shot into the corner. Hibs then responded well and had the better of the rest of the half. Maayan was linking the midfield well and Max got into the game more. Xav had a good chance from a cross and Jack headed over a corner. Joey got in behind the Vikings defence and Hibs started asking questions. Alex and his team missed a clear handball at the far post for what would have been a penalty with Xav waiting to score at the far post. Not much seems to be going for the Hibs right now, but we plugged away and it was a positive half-time with not much in the game. Vikings' 'keeper got away with a punch that saw the ball fly just past the post and later, a similar incident for Hibs had less fortunate results. Anyway, Hibs thought they had equalised when Xav headed in from a Max cross, but he was flagged offside. Hibs were playing well but Vikings were defending competently and on the break scored a lovely goal with a sweet left-footed shot from the angle. Hibs had plenty of time to respond but couldn't prise an opening and with Bolts struggling after a first half pincer attack on his shoulder, Hibs were a little toothless. Then the game was settled with 15 left as Bill's punch fell at the feet of a Vikings player who punished the men in green. Julio came on and junked his way forward for a chance to get a consolation but it wasn't to be and Vikings finished strongly. MoM to Maayan for a very tidy game further forward and some silky touches.
