GSAS wins battle at bottom of the league

A 6 pointer match for both teams at the bottom of the Cosmoleague ensured entertainment and commitment from both teams right from the start. GSAS already had a sitter with the kick off and long ball into Hotspurs penalty area but GSAS midfielder Alain was too surprised to finish off an easy tap in. GSAS was stronger in the first 15 min and created some decent chances with more passion and using the wings to threaten Hotspurs goal. This changed over time and Hotspurs got more into the game, driving long balls into GSAS half and occasionally overpowering them in midfield. The few chances Hotspurs created were heroically saved by GSAS young goalie who showed a MoM performance and was truly applauded by both teams for keeping a clean sheet. The first 45min was not fine-dining in terms of football but nobody scored and everything was still open. The second half saw a more active GSAS with more drive towards goal. The breakthrough came around the 70th min with an excellently taken free kick by Hamza from 20min which hit the cross bar and went into the net. From now onwards, chances were rare on both side though GSAS had more control of the match with a solid defence. GSAS winger Diyar finished off the match with a well-taken 20min shot after a quick and well-executed counter attack. Thanks Hotspurs for a fair yet important game for both sides.
