Time to dust ourselves off

So Friday night came and all of the Rangers squad were super pumped in anticipation of another classic game against SCC. Well that's what we thought...but things didn't go exactly to plan. With the team absorbing some of SCCs early attacks one moment that shaped the whole game. Mattia pressed the striker away from goal and stuck a leg into the back of him. Straight red apparently which we felt was a little harsh given the circumstances and importance of the game but hey ho not much you can do about that. The ref had set the scene for the rest of the game. So the rest of the first half Rangers were trying to get men behind the ball and break where possible to try and support super Mike. SCC took the lead when Dom O'Shea ran through and nipped in front of our defence and keeper to tuck home. He wanted it more. Then before HT Anthony went through and again nipped in before our Canadian giant who could only make contact with him. Peno. Anthony got up and put it away. 2-0 at half time. The second half continued along the same path, Rangers trying to get men behind the ball and breaking where possible but this was difficult to do against a very good SCC side who used their man advantage well. As we tried to commit more going forward in an attempt to try and get back into the game, more space opened up at the back and Liam scored two not far apart from each other. He was a nuisance all night and deservedly got a brace to back up his play. Both were well worked team goals that split right through us and he finished well. Rangers made a couple of changes to begin their unbelievable comeback! Well I mean one goal, after the SCC defender got sent off for another kick out, Paddy superbly finished a half chance from range after some pressing of SCCs back line caused the error. Rangers had a couple more chances near the end but ended up 4-1. SCC fully deserved the result but we look forward to the return fixture and trying to keep ten men on the pitch. MOM for Rangers was JC who was solid throughout as well as spraying the ball for fun in the first half. MOM for SCC was Liam. Had a really good game and was difficult to handle.

Report

It's a great league.

I don’t party anymore, don’t smoke, hardly drink and don’t really want to write these match reports every Monday morning. My Humour is lost on some and my previous report was asked to be taken down. I am sure nobody has taken offence. SCC won 4-1 with the Rangers players sending off having a massive influence on the end score line. We are looking forward to playing you guys again with what should be a better footballing spectacle. Credit to the Cosmo league and all the managers associated with the Cosmo league. This is the strongest Cosmo league in years and a league that is very much enjoyable to play in. We all appreciate your work but it is nice to have some fun sometimes also.
