Always Next Season

Usual end of season issues getting numbers together, with Championship playoff finals, holidays, injuries and brunches with girlfriends all getting in the way. Germans no doubt had the same issues though and we ended up having a good game. They took the lead with a solid header, but Talbot got one back before half time, sneaking onto the end of a long throw and nudging it past the keeper. We started the second half brightly after a shuffle round to get some pace (Thorin) up front. Chris then scored straight after coming on, bundling home a neat ball over the top by Julio. Lack of fresh legs started to tell as the half went on though. The Germans equalised with a well hit free kick that probably would have gone in even if we weren't still trying to set up our wall. And then the kick in the balls came near the end with Joey diving in to give away a penalty. He won't do it again though. Jamie explained it to him.

Penalty secures GAS’ win against HIBS

After a 1:1 halftime draw, two standards brought GAS a win in the last game of the regular season. A great combination finished by Dee with a strong header and a mistake by our defence was the highlights in the first half. With GAS’ loose attitude in the second half, the lead for HIBS was just a matter of time and was ultimately scored through an own goal. It might be the Fritz Walter weather that made us awake, but we started to fight and came back through a wonderful free kick goal by Victor. It was also him who finished the penalty for the 3:2 win against HIBS in the last minutes. Happy season ending and a praise to Mauro who jumped in as goalie.
