Solid effort

There were positives to take from this narrow defeat after last week's disaster. Everyone put in a committed performance, we kept organised, and we were maybe unlucky not to take something from the game. Aioli had most of the ball in the first half, but struggled to create clear-cut chances. Their goal was both very good, and also a little disappointing for us. From a cleared corner several of our players had a chance at making a tackle on the player who picked it up. Instead some good feet good him into our our box and then one-on-one to finish. We had a chance to get back level when Talbot was put through, but he hit the crossbar with his lob. The second half followed the same pattern, with us doing most of the defending but threatening on the break. We managed to get ourselves level when Lippy put Julio through. It looked like the defender might have closed down the opportunity, but Julio cut back on his left and finished well. The heavy pitch and lack of subs that hadn't already played that day eventually took it's toll though, and Aioli got their reward for the pressure. Elf made a great save from a shot in a crowded box, but the rebound fell their way. We still kept plugging away. Crazy Eyes came on, tripped over the ball with his first touch, got up, tripped over it again and gave away a throw. It looked like he might have got in near the end, but the linesman didn't appreciate his delicately curved run and raised his flag, denying Crazy Eyes a chance to embarrass himself again. MoM was Roger for his regular bollockings and organisation, and for getting us out of a few difficult situations. Special mention to Gilly for slotting in comfortably and Farhan and Fred for doubling up.

Close Game

Another week at dempsey and another 2-1 victory. We really struggled this week and were very lucky against a his side that absorbed with ease most of what we attempted in attack. His were dangerous on the break and created enough chances to win the game. Zander got us off to a great start beating 3 players before finishing well inside 10 minutes. First was end to end with both teams having chances. Our passing was poor, the pitch doesn't help but we can do better. Second half and his got a deserved equaliser after a great breakaway move and a tidy finish. We managed to up the game for the last 20. Hibs finally gave in to the pressure and the marauding benji stuck it in the net to give us the victory. Harry mom for another flawless game in CM.
