Report

Consistently inconsistent.

You know Dan Martin isn’t writing the match report because it has a fair assessment and the report isn’t filled with spelling and grammatical errors. After a decent showing against the Gaelic on Wednesday we had some confidence going in to this game. I don’t like to openly blame players however this week its all Pats fault…why you ask, he scored, he ran around a bit but yet I blame him. Well, we all know the kiss of death, the commentators curse right… Pat “oh we have a good squad tonight and players that have the ability to pass and keep the ball”…..well done Twatty, cant wait for you to leave! To a certain extent Twatty was right, we did have an awful lot of the ball and we did keep it well. We had a few chances, GK made an excellent save from a free kick and some of the half chances we had he was in the right position. We then, naturally, conceded a goal from a free kick inside the area. No marking for this one and a nice tap in, easy! We drew level quite quickly with Jack slotting in at the back post we some good pressure from the right hand side. 1-1. Andy then lost the ball on the half way line which and what followed was some very neat play by Hibs but some shit defending by the Casuals ending in a very tidy finish 1-2. Second half, we had lots of ball but didn’t do a great deal with it, we were guilty of firing long balls out of the back, the midfield did the same and up top ,movement was of a premium. In the dying minutes of the game the 2 lads who had worked hard all game got their reward with Oli beating the GK to provide an inch perfect cross to Twatty who slotted in the open net. 2-2. It’s not a loss and whilst we had the ball we didn’t really look like scoring. The teams above us are certainly no better but they are way more consistent and that inconsistency is killing us right now. Well done to Hibs, took the chances well and can feel a little disappointed with only taking a point. MOM Hibs - Roger MOM Casuals – Oli and Pat did very well even though it’s all Pats fault but Fraz has asked me to give it to him so Fraz gets it.

Making seven changes from last week’s squad, Hibs went a goal up through Marko as he turned in Andrew’s indirect free-kick in the penalty area. Despite the lead, Hibs were struggling to find their feet or much rhythm. Ninth choice and popping his keeper cherry, Nick, saved one of the many cheap free-kicks we gave away as we remained sloppy. The game was leveled up when Nick deflected a shot to the edge of the area and the rebound was well finished. Hibs had a good spell after this and Lippy seemed stumped as he volleyed wide from a good chance. We went back in the lead with a great goal. Julio into Andrew and top scorer Thorin received and smashed the ball in for his third of the season. Beautiful. In the second-half Hibs were terrible. Completed passes were few and far between and it was all Casuals. Trouble was, they just shot straight at Nick with the half chances they had and we did defend well blocking and covering. I think we had two shots, both wayward, in the half and Casuals kept possession and that meant attack against defence for the whole half. The subs stretched their legs and Raper got a vital touch at the back post, but Casuals deservedly equalised as Nick forgot his YouTube keeper lessons and rushed out and was beaten to the ball over the top, but the cross their player put in was excellent and split our covering defenders who had legged it back and it was converted on 88 minutes. Hibs were looking too leggy to get back at Casuals and the points were split. MoM for Hibs - Heljar who was solid at center back MoM for Casuals, their pacey forward.
