Seven Heaven

1TM Latini lined up against Hibs at home this week trying to build on a solid victory last time out. Hibs themselves were coming in off their first win of the season. Hibs were not to be taken lightly, especially with Dan ‘Darth’ Martin leading the line supported by their other players. An early goal settled any nerves after Lukito latched onto a through ball from Pep the heading machine… the young lad converted nicely to draw further plaudits in an impressive start to his 1TM Latini career. 1-0. Hibs just gave us enough time to finish celebrating before equalizing with yet another goal of the season contender. Thorin squirmed through a few bodies then lashed home from 30 yards (with his weaker foot!) into POBs top corner. It was a strike Dan ‘Darth’ Martin would have been proud of. 1-1. This time it was 1TM Latini who replied instantly. Hibs picked out Duplo on the left with a sloppy pass (perhaps the headband meant he was mistaken for one of their own) and his rifled snapshot found the bottom right corner of the onion bag. 3 goals in less than 3 minutes - humdinger. 2-1. 1TM Latini stepped it up a gear after that and went in to the break 4-1 to the good after 2 contrasting goals. Rory W swivelled nicely after a long throw to smash home the 3rd and a neat passage of play finished with Lego slotting one in the bottom corner for the 4th. HT 4-1. The 2nd half resulted in game changers being brought on with the intention of making an impact. On plan Codhead scored 2, assisted 1 and got caught offside 8 times. Other standout moments: - - Captain Eyebrows comical back pass from 50 yards. - Woody Wildebeest’s inability to kick a ball more than 10 yards with his left foot. - Bufton unable to convert an open goal from 10 yards. - Thorin scored another goal for Hibs with a cheeky little dinked finish, a goal Dan ‘Darth’ Martin would have been proud of. - Lego scored another. FT 7-2. Big thanks to team Bradshaw for coming down top support and thanks to Hibs for the game and also for joining the post game beers / debrief. Best luck for the season. Germans up next - FNL MOM - 1TM Latini – Lego just pipping his younger brother this time after being robbed by the Tally Tie rule last week. MOM - Hibs– #8 Thorin for a worldie and a neat finish. Kit: - Captain Eyebrows

One to Forget

Hibs v Latini games are normally enjoyable close-fought affairs, which made it even more of a shame that completely shit the bed and still had to go Harry's and look them in the eye afterwards. Can't even really blame Latini for not letting us on their party bus. We didn't deserve a lift. The first Latini goal was a horror show and a sign of what was to come. Thorin picked us straight up with a screamer of an equaliser, but immediately we gave the ball away in a bad position and were behind again. For the third, two of Latini's massive units made us look like tiny little man children as they boshed us out of the way to force a long throw over the line. We never recovered from that humiliation and, even though Thorin managed to score another neat goal, we played the rest of the game in disarray and patheticness. We're still making progress from last season and getting good squads together, but we got a lot wrong on Saturday. We also might need to get in the gym if we're going to compete in the Latini rematch. Credit to them for making the most of our off day.
