Cheap Goals

The tricky 6pm ko on a Saturday night slot was then delayed by 45 minutes due to lightning. Unfortunately we lost Will who had made the effort to come and play the first half and Vikings had to be thankful as their kit arrived just in time. A game of 70 minutes on the night and there was plenty of action. Hibs started well but Vikings took the lead spotting the gap and Mele scored at the near post after a miss-hit clearance fell to their danger man. Vikings’ ‘keeper then performed some heroics to keep Dan out on the line and then he tipped Panda’s header away which seemed certain to go in. Hibs felt well in the game at halftime and the next goal was clearly vital with the short game duration. Naive defending cost Hibs for the first time from a corner. Maayan then scored a screamer to half the deficit with nothing less than a left-foot rocket from a cleared corner to the edge of the box. Hibs then shot themselves in the foot gifting 3 goals to Vikings which was quite out of character. It was Vikings’ night and they do a clinical double over us. Their keeper gets MoM for unbelievable saves at important stages. Maayan was outstanding in every department, so he gets MoM for us.

Chaotic

A pre-game like not before , uniform dude arriving late, floodlights blinking , game shortened down - but all to play for on a beautiful evening at American school. Vikings looked dangerous with Domino always looking to create from the right with a running midfield marshaled by daddy dubsky. We created chanced early and when changing our two wingers it really opened up with youth and experience on the left being the perfect combo. In the end we felt that we created enough to be outright winners, but when you gk gets man of the match, you also know that the other team gave you enough to think about. Post match beers - revealed some pending exits with the transfer window having been harsh on the vikings - we shall rebuild and get back ! Just think that after 6 games we were struggling big time and now challenging for 3rd. Thanks to hibs and referre team for a good game .
