Nice end to the season

Big game for the Cosmo Vikings! Meli's last game (for now), playing to secure the 4th spot and avenging a painful defeat earlier in the season! We came with 16 players strong incl. 3 debutants to the Cosmo league (Hussein, Hugh & Tobias)... The game plan was to play 2 halves with high intensity... Gaelic had no substitutes and fought bravely however 10 mins in Meli gave us the lead through a header after perfect cross from Albert and felt like the game at this point was already decided... Vikings were in full control and We went 2 up after a top corner thunder strike from Tomas about 30 mins in (whispers of goal of the season!!??)... Vikings were cruising along with about 80% possession at this point when the unthinkable happened, Gaelic got one back after beating the off-side trap and eventhough Mike caught up with their striker (injuring him in the process) he somewhat managed to curle it past, a very very well playing William D. in goal, which meant it was 2-1 at halftime and the game was far from over... We stuck with our game plan to play high intensity football and took all 5 subs at halftime... This resulted in 2nd half being a constant siege and some good goal keeping from the Gaelic keeper kept them in the game... Meli finally closed the game with his 2nd goal after a great assit from Anders down the left side setting up Meli for his 2nd goal which sealed the win with about 15 mins to go... Overall a great performance a good performance which we can be proud of eventhough we should probably have been up with 3 or 4 at half time and another 2-3 in the 2nd half... But we got we job done and secured 4th!! Thanks to referees and gaelic for a fair game played in good spirit .
