Good win

We came into this one with a good few regulars away and knowing International Lions are a better side than league position shows. So really glad we came away with the win and great seeing Ilyas stand up tall in the absence of others with a hat trick. First came from Daiki cutting inside and keeper could only parry into the path of big Niall returning from Thailand for his cameo. Second was a worldy from Ilyas. Great harassing and fighting from both Niall and Xav. Ball broke to Ilyas from 30 who shot first time curling into tip bins. We had a third ruled out from Jacob from a corner but you could see the little push. Good call in fairness, Quentin. International centre back then went on a rampaging run, all Sheffield United 2020, to put in a great cross, matched by a great header. 2-1. Almost repeated it before half time. Ilyas got his second from 35 this time from a free kick. Keeper probably expecting more of a cross...ball sailed in ala Ronaldhino 2002...a bit... 10 minutes later International almost repeated it with the ball landing on the cross bar. And International continued to press and push men forward. We dealt with the pressure well. Our new centre back pairing of Jacob and Tom coped well throughout the game in fact, dealing with the pace of a number of International players looking to get in behind or seeking through balls. Shailer very quick off line and Hans ruffling a few feathers in front, too. Fourth came from Xav laying off to Ilyas for a simpler finish from all of only 12 yards to grab a hattrick. First in a long time for a Lions player. Thanks for the game International Lions. Is it me or are there just a lot of goals on that American School pitch? P.S. After publishing the Ginger Drogba reached out to dispute that the duration since the last trilogy of goal netting by a Lions hero is perhaps not as long as the author would've imagined.

Missing Chances

International Lions faced a very good and well-organized team. We did some great things, and we missed too many chances in the first half, but Gaelics punished us strait after our own mistakes. We will continue to work on things we need to improve upon, right now we’re focusing on improvement. Our attitude was great, and we'll continue to work well together, we are still learning. Wins will come soon. Congrats to Gaelic who are deserving to be on the TOP 3 of the table. Well done to the referee's team who did an excellent game.
