The British Hotspurs are one of the most successful teams in the Cosmo League having won the title at least 8 times and the Cup on numerous other occasions.
The Hotspurs developed out of the British High Commission in about 1981. Rumour has it that after a fracas in one particular game and complaints to No. 10 no less, an investigation uncovered that there was only one employee of the British High Com playing, and being a Tottenham Hotspur fan immediately changed the name to British Hotspurs Club thus allowing the team to continue to wear the BHC logo on the shirts.
In the mid-80s the British Hotspurs once went two whole seasons undefeated. The run came to an end, ironically, when the British Casuals beat them. The irony being that the Casuals were once the Hotspurs second XI before a separation in 1987.
The most successful period was from 1984-1995 when they finished outside the top two a mere once, winning the league and cup double 4 times...and when the league wasn't won, it seemed the cup was. They last won the title in 2000.
