A baking day on a much improved surface at Tampines for the game versus an in form Nippon.

Casuals, despite missing some first teamers had a more familiar look, back to the tried and tested formation and Webbo returning at the back.  Nippon started brightly however and after their left winger danced to the byline, his cross was turned home and the Casuals were 1 down.  Casuals then improved their play and when Dave was allowed to control and turn home a rare goal the Casuals were on terms.  A crossfield ball from Paul then found Mal, who gave excellent balance on the left, and the midfielder lashed home for 2-1.  Nippon were very much in the game however and were bright in possession but a Mal through ball found Mooney who made it 3 on half time..

Second half and Nippon again started brightly but could not find an end product - the Casuals defence a little meaner and better organised with Webbo at the heart..  At the other end a bright move found Mooney who fed Phil to make it 4. 

An ugly tangle led to a wrestling match between Webbo and the Nippon centre forward and both were dismissed, which was sad because Webbo's leadership at the back had made a real difference.  The reorganisation led to Casuals losing their fluency, however Mal flicked Ross's throw to Mooney to head home the fifth.   The Casuals then dallied at the back and gave a goal away which has happened far too often this season and the game ended 5-2.

Casuals were happy to take the points and will take some positives from this game although are very aware that are not playing to their potential as yet..
