A furnace of a day for the game versus Ubin.

The game began and Ubin started brightly with the Casuals somehow giving their C Forward 20 yards of space on the edge of our box in the first minute, the forward hitting the post.. Casuals improved throughout the half but on the whole were well matched by a hard working Ubin side.

Lots of refreshment taken on at half time and some stern words from the management.. The second half began and after a slow start and a brilliant save from Marc in goal - the Reds started to take control, assisted by the additional movement and outlet provided by Franny and latterly Gordon in wide positions… 65 mins in and Tom bustled his way through and rounded the keeper for 1-0.. 5 mins later and a clear foul on Paul led to Mooney making it 2 and the game was safe. A good move led to Mooney being brought down and making it 3 from the spot and after Mal had hit the post, Dan made it 4.

A game of two halfs and a decent second half performance - the Casuals will look to improve fitness and start quicker ongoing and also hope for a bit of cloud cover in the afternoons..
