Gaulois- Ubin
Another very hot 3pm kick off game at ITE Simei. Gaulois's line up was weakened by a few absentees upfront and in the midfield, but players were really motivated. Beginning of the game was a bit slow with two teams observing each other without creating good scoring opportunities. OG defense was well in position and managed to contain the fast strikers of Ubin. OG midfield would get a lot of balls but the strikers would not manage to put pressure on Ubin's defense.
0-0 half time.
Second half would start on the same tempo, but after 20mn OG players would start showing physical difficulties to cope with Ubin increasing pressure. One of Ubin's free kicks was boxed out by OG keeper but unfortunately the ball was deflected on one of Ubin's players who converted the goal. Og would try to get back in the game but a few minutes later Ubin's striker would put a nice header in.
That was it, as none of the teams would get another opportunity to score.
Congrats to Ubin, who managed to be patient and score at the good time. Central referee was okay and gave fair yellows to calm down players in both teams. However not a good day in the office for the linesmen with many controversial offsides.
As for us, while the spirit is there we still need to work out our stamina in order to be able to cope with a whole 90mn game.
