A late goal in a game of few chances saw Latini take the points in a competitive fixture, played on a cow field with no markings at ITE Tampines on Saturday.

Talk before the game was to limit the long game and try and get the ball into the feet of the front two, however, Latini were always quick to close down and Casuals manufactured little in a half bereft of clear opportunities for either team.

Latini created a couple of half chances in the second period before a goal-mouth scramble from a corner saw Owain, who had an excellent game at the back, hit the outside of the post from a tight angle.

In an effort to snatch a winner, Casuals sent on a third forward with five minutes to go and the game opened up with the Reds creating a number of crossing opportunities down the right.  It was from one of these chances that the ball fell to Latini who broke quickly and were able to create a one-on-one for their powerful striker who took the ball wide before finishing well.

Casuals third loss of the season, and second on the trot, means the Reds will have a lot of thinking to do over the mid-season break, hopefully coming back refreshed and with an appetite for the second half of the season not sated by too much turkey and Christmas pudding.
