Run Continues
n

Ubin's unbeaten streak continued, this time with a win as opposed to a string of cancelled games and holidays...

n

Overall it was a good solid performance, Ubin were strong through the middle of the park with Joel and Jeremie building up at great partnership at the back and Danny and Rob G working tirelessly (as usual) in midfield.

n

Ubin pretty much dominated the first half and were through on goal 3 or 4 times, however, despite this pressure Ubin failed to take the lead. Some of this can be contributed to poor finishing from Ubin but credit also needs to be given to the Lions keeper who made a number of good one on one saves.

n

The second half was a little more of a contest in terms of possession and the Lions seemed to benefit from a string of substitutions. However, by and large Ubin enjoyed the better chances and finally broke the deadlock after a good counter attack involving Phil and then Piete. This was a nice goal involving Piete beating one man and then rounding the keeper to the slap the ball in the net.

n

Despite Ubin's overall dominance, Lions had there only gilt edge chance at the end of the game when the ball was blasted over from about 6 yard to Ubin's relief. A free kick in the last minute also game Lions a glimmer of hope but thankfully the shot was struck over the bar.

n

A decent performance from Ubin but work still needs to be done to convert chances. From Goal Keeper to Jon C upfront, everyone put in a big shift particularly debut boy Jeremy who was seeing stars at half time.
