At last, the second round
Yes, this is our fourth attempt in consecutive years of trying to get into the second round, previously we had drawn SCC, Ubin and I think Hotspurs. Our confidence was high having performed well in the last two league games, however, 4 big names are missing and we have had to reshuffle the pack. The other major factor is a much improved Dutch squad with lots of energy and youth in midfield and up front. From the start the Dutch took control and when we took the lead from our first attack there were a few shouts for a foul on the keeper. It was very fortunate to be honest two players colliding one being the goalkeeper and the ball slipping from his hands to the feet of our debutant striker who made no mistake. The second was a well worked team goal scored by Buffy. 2 nil at the break and more to come in the second. Well so we thought. The second half was very tight and although we had chances we took only two of them.In the end it was 4-1 and we were glad to at least be in the draw for the second round. Well done lads.
