SJI from afar looked nicely green and flat however upon stepping on the pitch the opposite became apparent with long grass and soft soil, it would turn out to be a slow pitch to run on and fitness would come into the equation.

The Rangers outfit had the announcement of Steve Black handing over the reigns of the team to Dave Budd as he’ll be moving to the land of Oz and with a new kit to debut the team had an extra reason to thank Steve for his leadership and finish off the season strong; also looking forward to next season the Rangers fielded a younger team combination

The Swiss in the traditional red & white started off quickly and were unfortunately one goal up; this was a reflection of what has plagued the Rangers campaign throughout the season, the slow start to matches! With the Rangers spirit ignited by being one goal down; the pressure was put on the Swiss and was duly rewarded by a great goal from Steve after the keeper had blocked Todd’s long-range effort. A defensive lapse allowed the Swiss to score their second of the day just before the break

About halfway through the second half the Swiss through some quick play got their 3rd goal of the match! The pace on the wings from the Rangers did not prove enough to crawl back the deficit and the tension of the game rosed with challenges and a lot of chatters, things got tougher for the Rangers with a controversial send off of Ned for a second booking for coming off the line from the wall, we understand the 1st booking but with such a harsh 2nd booking the game practically change for us.

n

Rangers changed formation to 3-4-2 formation and brought in two new subs Sybe and Luis to provide fresh legs in the changed formation however with tiring legs and the Swiss exploiting the reduced defensive line, they made it 4-1 with about 5 minutes left on the clock

Not the polish performance both teams were hoping but definetely a game both teams can quickly forget!
