Vikings Second Best against Hotspurs
A top of the table clash against Hotspurs was on the menu this Saturday afternoon at Singapore Sports School.

Both teams have had a decent start to the season and with two games to play surely both sides aim to finish 1st half of the season in style.

Our main game plan was to show the same aggression and passion, which was so brilliant against SCC. We did that from the first whistle and we looked quite lively going forward. A few long range efforts from Tommie, Fallesen and Casper lacked power/quality, but we looked good for the opening goal. After some 15 minutes we got exactly that, when Tommie converted a trademark quickly taken free-kick.

Good start from Vikings as we continued to create chances when attacking, the problem was that Hotspurs were even better when they had possession. Outstanding short passing football ripped our team apart and the likes of Esad, Abbas & no.22 continuously showed their quality and proved impossible for Vikings to handle. We were indeed second best, as Hotspurs deservedly lead 4-1 at halftime.

Second half was an uphill battle, but we played our chance and got rewarded with a goal. Peter DT came first to a cross towards the backpost and his pass/touch found Soren Dyne Larsen, who coverted his chance from close range. Well done, 4-2 and we were still in it. A few minutes of belief was quickly destroyed by Hotspurs, as another pin-point passing counter-attack left a attacker clean through. Steven with no chance and it was 5-2.

We got a consolation goal at the end. Rafa played a good through pass towards Tommie, who controlled the ball well before passing the on-rushing goalkeeper to make it 5-3. This was the final result and a deserved victory for Hotspurs. They played very well.

Thanks to the refs & "Binns Army" for a good and fair match.
