As the match started Latini managed to put us under pressure and they had a few decent chances to take the lead. After roughly 10 min they got the lead. Our central defender was left 1 on 1 with their clinical striker #14, who used his body strength to get past our defender and score the opening goal. Not an undeserved lead, but again we are letting our opposition score way to easily.
We managed to equalize shortly after when Daniel converted Michael F. Jensen's lovely through pass into a cool finish. 1-1 and we were back in the game. This unfortunately only lasted a few minutes before Latini took the lead again. Quite frustrating, as we were starting to control the match. Luckily we got another equalizer shortly after their goal. Daniel was working his socks off inside the opposition's territory and got his reward by winning the ball inside the box and scored our 2-2 goal.
Just before the break Latini took the lead again. Again we cannot be pleased with our defending, as this goal came from another long pass, which gave their striker a breakaway. 2-3 at the break and we were still in it, but we'll be disappointed to miss several great chances and concede 3 easy goals.
Second half was controlled by Vikings. We had some decent chances during 2nd half as we hit the woodwork twice and several other great chances as well. Our best chance to equalize came 5 min from time, when Soren Larsen got a breakaway towards the Latini keeper. He tried to shoot it past the keeper, but unfortunately their keeper made a good save.
Disappointingly the match ended 2-3. We defiantly feel that we deserved at least a point in this game, but we can only blame ourselves that we didn't take all 3.
Cheers,
Thomas Sorensen
