Singapore Lucky draw
We faced Lions on a very wet and partly flooded pitch at Jap.ass.
Lions have improved their form in recent weeks, while Vikings have slowed down after a brilliant start to the season.
The coin-toss decided that Lions were to defend the swimming pool in the first half, which gave us several chances. Our aggressive/passionate approach paid off, when Chris scored his 10th of the season. Dyne made a low shot from inside the box and the Lions keeper jumped to the correct side, but only to see the ball stop in the water and Chris could hammer it into the open net. A few other chances came our way, but unfortunately we didnt take them. Our defense stood firm, so it was 1-0 at the break.
Second half it was Lions, who had the upperhand in terms of possesion but without creating any open opportunities. We looked dangerous on counter-attacks, but the likes of Dyne, Tommie & Chris didnt manage to seal the deal. Our defense/midfield was heroic and Lions only got their equalizer from a very poor mis-communication in the Vikings defense. Peter & Kasper couldn't decide, who should kick the ball away - so it ended up as a bizarre own goal.
We had our chances to grab a late winner, but again we need more composure in front of goal. It all ended as a draw, which was actually a fair result.
Man of the match goes to Michael Calamari, who looked like Mel Gibson's Braveheart after battling in the mud all day.
Thanks to Lions for a good game, but unfortunately the poor pitch condition didnt allow the teams to play good passing football
