The 3pm kick Off - kicked out the Captain Klemmi, who thought the gamestarted @ 5pm. With this we had to get Sascha Heusselsche started from
the beginning after his injury and it proved so wrong. The first action
of the game saw him badly injuring his knee without any opponent impact.
Get well soon Alpha-Schlumpf!
Beside this the Germans started with the Black Suppen Cat from the
Bosporus in goal. The 4 in the back were Herminator Kinsky, Markus
Haarlein, Phillip von Zehn and Rino Zherus. In midfield we sported our
new Youngstar addition Jens Schweinsteiger as well as the running
machines Phillip Balboa, Jens Tabu and Maddias Breitner supporting up
front the grey wulf Volle Voeller.
The Germans knew that this would be a tough one, as it was 3pm nicely
hot and a good but large SJI pitch. Both teams struggled a bit to get
into the game, but the Germans were actually slightly more taking
control of the game without creating smashing chances. GAS played quite
well until the box, but then it stopped and so the game was pretty much
dead looked until a few minutes before the break, when after a long
corner Phillip Balboa screwed himself into the air and headed on the
cross bar, with the return nicely converted by Maddias Breitner. So it
was 1-0 at half time and still the game pretty much open.
The second half saw captain Michael doing a couple of good runs and also
creating 2 good 1-1 situations with the keeper which unfortunately did
not make it in. With 17 minutes to go it was again routinier Volle
Voeller to put the game beyond doubt. Picking the ball up after Herr
Breitner made a little DEFA stunt, he was running all the way through
the Hollandse defense and nicely converted for the decisive 2-0. All 3
Germans Substitutes (Schachi, Markus D. and Florian) came on and Schachi
almost made 2 goals, but after several month on the sidelines his weight
and vision is not yet fully recovered.
In the end it was 2-0. Compliment to Hollandse who made it very
difficult for us and fought until the last minute. MOM goes to Jens
Taubken for his good running in midfield and support of both defense and
attack.
