Comfortable Win for Brewerkz
Good conditions at Ite Tampines , the threat of rain did not materialize , at least in the East. The Brewerkz started the game keen to avenge last seasons loss the the Gaulois side, who at that stage were in a similar position in the league table.
Despite not playing at our best, the Brewerkz led 3-0 at half time. The first was absolute cracker from Ganesh, who smashed the ball into the top corner from 22 yards, assisted by Kelly. The same duo combined to make it 2-0, Kelly beat 2 players down the left, cut the ball back, this time Ganesh finished with confidence from 12 yards. The third came just before half time, Kelly running effortlessly passed 3-4 defenders then finishing well with his left foot. A great solo goal.
The second half was a tad pedestrian at times, the Brewerkz lacked concentration at times, which the Gaulois side took full advantage of scoring two consolation goals, after Brewerkz had extended the lead to 4-0, via a second goal for Kelly.
It finished 4-2, which was a credit to the Gaulois side who kept on fighting throughout the game. The Gaulois had some quality in midfield and up front, surprising that they only have the one point to date.
Some good performances from Brewerkz, Nicolas in goal was superb, save of the season in the first half off a well executed bicycle kick from the Gaulois striker. Kelly and Ganesh combined well up front, two goals each for their efforts.
All in all, a comfortable win for Brewerkz, who really should have scored more goals. Thomas and Kelly guilty of missing a few chances in particular. Game played in good spirit and well refereed.
