After last week defeat vs. Casuals, we were all up for a fresh and new start. Coach and Captains were clear on the messages to the squad before the game. Forget about last week game, focus on our football, sticking together as a team, and get the 3 points!

I believe Graham Abramovich was happy to see SCC playing in blue jerseys, for what was a first half / first class display by the squad. There was only one team playing football on the pitch. SCC players were pressing high all over the park, taking first and second balls and playing superb football at time. Hutcheon got the opener after a great move in the centre of the park and an assist from Souiade. Hutcheon initiated the second goal too after finding himself on the right line, taking on 2 players to find McCarvel in the box who lay back to Paul ‘Ji-Sung’ for a great finish from the edge of the box.

I was down at Dempsey on Sunday for SCC Tigers game, and the 2 Swiss players that Hutcheon took on our second goal were still there explaining to the linesman the Swiss version of the rules of football, even though the same linesman left the pitch right after the game on Saturday… Anyway, 2-0 half time and could have been more.

Our opponents were no doubt motivated to come back in the game in second half, but right from the start again, SCC were all over them again. It took only a few minutes to see Anderson having a good strike deflected by the keeper, McCarvel was following as usual to get his name on the scoreboard. After a few other chances, Anderson managed to get a well deserved goal too. SCC got a few subs on, that showed once more that everyone has an impact in the team, and a few more chances were created with no luck and the score to remain as is, 4-0 SCC.

It is of course difficult not to get involve when your opponents are moaning after each and every contact, discussing every official decisions and insulting us all day long in German or Italian… Well maybe it was not insults after all, since I did not understand, maybe they we telling us how much they liked our display on the day?  Result of this is Rogers getting a red card. We all need to focus and make sure we do not get involved in the future.

MoM goes to Anderson, for his tireless run and setting up two goals on the day. It is only a shame you forgot the bandana…
