On a day when Vikings had played earlier in a tournament and with some key players out rangers had an opportunity to pillage the opposition.
Rangers started well and it was clear there were some tired legs in the opposing team with one of their guys going down with cramp within the first 15mins. Rangers applied the early pressure however despite a couple of great runs from Blacky he was unable to produce his usual form in front of goal.
The breakthrough came after a good ball left the defence in no mans land and a cut back to an oncoming midfielder who neatly put the ball away, I may have made this sound like a rangers goal but alas no, it was 1-0 to Vikings.
Rangers continued to surge forward and Ozzy shortly before being brought down managed to get a great ball to an awaiting Blacky just behind the penalty spot, Not sure why the ref didn't play the advantage but the play was called back for a free kick to the disadvantage of rangers.
A couple of changes at half time saw a welcome return for Chidi replacing Ken who had a solid game and Marko one of the new armada of Spanish signings for Rangers. Again rangers were applying the pressure and Vikings were soaking it up. Juan Luis replaced Blacky in an attempt to shore up defence and free up Christian from central defence who was itching to get into midfield, well not strictly true as he was already in midfield and pushing up, leaving Chidi and the full backs to sweep up any counter attack.
Finally the pressure paid off with Chema sending a great ball over the top to Todd who lobbed Eujin to make it 1-1.
Rangers continued to push but to no avail and with cramp now starting to hit the Rangers played 1-1 it ended.
Rangers should have smelt blood and gone for the kill but credit to Vikings for deservedly holding Rangers to a draw despite having played earlier.
