Vikings back on track with win against zee Germans !

Another mid-table battle kicked off at our new home pitch ITE Balestier. This time our opposition was German All Stars. A very important match, in which we really needed all 3 points. Everybody agreed that last weeks lack of attitude was unacceptable and we at least have to give a 100% effort in this match.

We tried to put the Germans under pressure from the first whistle and we created several decent chances within the first ten minutes. Our opening goal came from a Peter Lund through pass, which yours truly flicked on to Rasmus, who dribbled passed Oliver Kahn to make it 1-0 Vikings. Our passing game didn't really work this Saturday afternoon and it's definitely not the most beautiful match we played this season. We created a few chances before the break, while the Germans never really looked dangerous in front of our goal.

Second half was similar to the first. We looked good in defense, but when we had possession of the ball we really didn't do well. Daniel scored the important 2nd goal, which sealed the deal. A poor goal kick from the German custodian was catched by Rasmus, who passed the ball to Daniel who scored with a cool easy finish.

The reminder of the half was more less all Vikings and we have glorious opportunities to score goals, but our poor passing made sure we didn't finish this game with at least 4 or 5-0 on the board. When yours truly finally did something good and scored the 3-0 goal everything was definitely over and the 3 points was in the bag.

Not the prettiest of games and most of our players didn't play to their best. Its important that we are able to win games even on days like this. Thanks to Jakob, who played his last game for Vikings. Thanks to the Germans and refs for a fairly played match.

Cheers,

Thomas Sorensen
