Vikings worked their SOCKS off
Vikings were eager to face Casuals, as we believed this might be the season we could beat them. Not the best build-up as Ranck forgot our socks inside his dryer, so after a bare-footed warm-up, we were all set to go.

1st half was a good game of football with scoring chances for both teams. Everyone in our team worked their socks off (so maybe that's why Ranck didn't care to bring them to the match). This limited Casuals to only a few open chances and Eu Jin did well in goal when called upon. At the other end Dyne came close a few times and both Fallesen & Tommie could have scored, when Ranck twice beat his man and made a nice cut-back pass. We eventually took the lead, when Tommie was brought down inside the box and Brad correctly pointed on the spot. In usual fashion Tommie stepped up and scored, but with a little help from the bumpy surface. Our 5-man midfield did an excellent job and together with our hard-working defense, they deserved great credit as we were 1-0 up at halftime.

Casper was brought on from the beginning of second half, replacing a well-playing Morfar Lund. Second Half was again a hard fought battle, but with Casuals more in control. We were pushed back in the opening minutes and they unfortunately quickly got the equalizer from a long "Rory Delap" throw. A disappointing goal to concede and it must have been a communication breakdown in our defense. In true Vikings style, we didn't let this disturb us too much and continued to work hard.

Casuals now believed even more in their own abilities and pushed on for the winner. Eu Jin almost gifted it to them on two occasions, but luckily Casuals failed to convert the chances. We had a few chances from counter-attacks, but never came as close as we did in the first half. We almost "stole" the 3 points in the final minute, as Chris failed to connect with a good Calamari Corner. This was a major chance to win the match and for Chris (without knowing it) to kick-start his own bachelor party.

Match ended 1-1, which was a fair result considering our chances in the first half.
Casuals had majority of possession and might feel they should have scored the winner in second half.

Thanks to Casuals for a good match. A good performance from Brad & his linesmen, who let the game flow and allowed both teams to play a fair physical match.

MOM goes to Christian Fallesen, who will entertain our team mascot "Otto"for another week. Both Elbo & Fallesen ran half a Marathon this afternoon and deservedly collected most votes for the MOM.
