Swiss collapse in last 20 minutes
SJI in Wembley condition and with a win over Casuals the week before all looked good for the Swiss - until matchday: with Bill Crawley still unavailable we counted on Hakim to continue with his great run as goalkeeper. But no sign of Hakim - until now, we don't know why he did not show up...so what to do? With few substitutes we turned to a friend of a player to put on the gloves...not ideal, but Peter Struebin did his best. We did not lose because of him.

Very balanced opening few minutes but Brewerkz draw first blood when their striker followed up on a loose ball on 10 minutes. Great reaction from the Swiss: Alain Stroppini chips the ball over the keeper and hits the cross bar. Christian Buchmann follows up and equalizes. Shortly afterwards, a gret move with Christian Buchmann playing the last ball into the path of Heinz Steinegger who rifles home from 20 metres. Good chances on both sides, but no further goals in the first half, with the Swiss having the upper hand.

After the break a furious Brewerkz comeback, but the Swiss scored on the counter attack when Alain finished off coolly. Brewerkz saw a handball, but from my position it was not visible. Brewerkz put now more men forward and soon got rewarded with a second goal. But only two minutes later Alain Stroppini restored the two goal lead for the Swiss when he headed over the goalkeeper: 4:2. At that point Brewerkz looked dead and buried. But a great comeback in the last 20 minutes saw them score 4 times, with the Swis only hitting the cross bar once. 6:4 Brewerkz the final score.

The Swiss need to take away from this game that it's not over until the fat lady sings. We gave away points needlessly because we stopped playing football as a team and started to talk too much. Brewerkz clinically punished that.

We now play Lions on Tuesday before taking on the Casuals in the Cup Final on Saturday.
