Gaulois ends losing streak
From coach JB
Hot weather for OGS game against Lions
Only 12 players for OGS, deprived of regular key players Tamby, the two Freds and Alex.
OGS started strongly , with fast strikers Luciano and Aurelien creating trouble for Lions defense.
After 15 minutes, possession was even and pace slower, with Lions also getting some good opportunities to score, but their shots were either off target or well stopped by a fantastic Thong.
20': A good passing sequence between Daniel, Pablo, Christophe and Aurelien enable the latter to cross a perfect ball for Luciano who beat the Lions keeper from close distance. OGS 1-0
Game was still balanced and Luciano got another good opportunity with a one one one face off against Lions GK, but this time he missed his shot.
30': Lions most dangerous player, winger #20 would break past OGS defensive midfielders and blast a 30m screamer just below the bar.
1-1 would be the score at halftime, and reflect well the first half
Second half would start on the same tempo, but OGS would suffer physically and Lions would get most of the possession. They would get lots of opportunities to score but would put in none, as Gaulois would show composure and determination to preserve the result.
1-1 Final score that rewards brave and combative gaulois.
Thanks to the Lions for a good game and good luck for the rest of the season.
Referees (same as the week before) had another strange game, with lots of though cards for OGS in a game that was played in good spirit overall.
As for us Gaulois, lets hope that this game is just the start of a winning or a "not-losing" streak......
