Casuals started as a 4-4-2 against the SCC 3-5-2 - a clash of styles and one where the Casuals needed to exploit the 2 on 1 in wide areas and to avoid being over exposed in the centre. Casuals failed to execute, their passing way below par and with an extra player, the SCC had control of the midfield. After a number of clear runs from midfielders leading to SCC chances, a 20 yd run from Adam led to a shot being palmed out by Marc and the ball turned home.. Casuals had the odd moment and if a disputed goal from Mooney had not been dissallowed, the outcome could have been different, however the Casual's best player was Marc in goal.
nThe second half and the Casuals started well although improved play did not lead to a equaliser. 20 mins in and a needless foul led to a freekick where a loose ball in the box was turned in and the SCC were clear. 10 mins later and the Casuals defence gave Hutch a free header and it was 3. The Casuals had a couple of chances but the final ball did not quite hit the mark, but without doubt the best team won by a margin..
nWell done to SCC as the scoreline was well merited. A poor result and performance from the Reds who need to improve in all areas if they are going to meet the benchmark of recent years..
