A Deserved Win

When i saw our man of the match Shane Kubota, with his family and i looked straight into his eyes and i also saw the other nippon-shuichi warming up,i knew they were fired up in a kamikaze fashion and the japanese were up for the taking.Surprisingly the game started a bit cagey though for us,particularly when the japanese drew the first blood by ripping apart our defence and their striker finished clinically even though the goal came against the run of play.

Rangers never say die spirit was well alive on this day coupled with the clement weather and fine condition of the pitch that engendered good football ,we got our equalizing goal fortituitiuosly a fluke cross from our French import was spilled by the japanese goalkeeper, but Ned was their to finish up with a a headrer that glanced the upright,at this point it was game on--1-1 at interval, before the goal though we had lost our south african springbok(craig) to a nasty ligament injury, this forced our manger into making a forced substitution.

The second half started with Rangers on the ascendacy, dominating play and putting the japs on the backfoot, but we just lacked the cutting-edge to put the game beyond them, anyway we scored a second goal through captain Todd "cahill" konning,he really baffles me with his great soccer techniques, considering that prior to 2006,aussies were never know to be great footballers.immediately the goal was scored we played with much gusto, building from the momentum we have gained in recent week, also having at the back of our mind the pep talk our manager gave that we needed to beat the teams around us and move up the ladder so we could end the year on a good note.

Credit to the japs who were a delight to watch, they can actually pass you of the park, but we have had the rub of the green in recent weeks,Ozzy quickly got a brace and we were up 4-1,the manger knowing the points was in the kitty made more substitutions, and we could have scored atleast three more goals if we had taken our chances.

As the ref ended the game,i could see the japanese duo in rangers celebrating as if they had just won a lottery, offcourse reason being they will go back and enjoy the bragging right.

We look forward to our next game next year hoping that players dont come back with tonnes of extra kilos in this yuletide season

Merry christmas and a happy new year and thanks to the japanese for giving us a good game and best wishes to Craig and the japanese lad that got injured too.

cheers.
