Hotspurs and Germans Pitch In For A Bumpy Experience

Such was the state of the pitch, I didn't even get changed in the hope of coming on.  Too narrow, too short (one kick from our keeper bounced once in the opposition's penalty area and then went over the bar), too hard with very little grass, a fence around it that wasn't high enough to stop the ball going over on a regular basis and a long walk to retrieve it.. quite honestly a waste of time.  The only good thing that came out of this game was the fact that we won it in the most exciting manner.

Two goals from Esad (I missed the first as I was retrieving the match ball), with a solitary reply from the Germans gave us a deserved half-time lead, given that we were creating the best opportunities under difficult circumstances.  The second half was much like the first with both teams finding it very difficult to get the ball under control and do something with it for most of the game.  Having thought we'd seen off the German pressure with our resolute defence with man-of-the-match Paul playing magnificently between the sticks, the opposition eventually scored right at the death from a corner.  It seemed cruel from our point of view to get so far and lose the points, but then with seconds remaining Dalis conjured up a bit of magic and got a winner.

The Germans will no doubt feel aggrieved to have lost, but then we were after the first match of the season... so there you go.  I don't know how much the pitch cost, but the league should ask for the money back.
