O' Mighty Penalty

Expecting a Brewerkz team in desperate need for win, Latini was prepared to face a tough opponent. The match started with a good equilibrium between the two teams, but Latiniâ??s line up of 4-2-3-1 was facing some organizational challenges. Brewerkz took advantage of it to destabilize the defense with a good run from Brewerkzâ??s left forward. Jeje tackled in the box, Latini shivered, no penalty given.

Latini woke up and pushed hard in front, good job from Latini forwards to shift and disturb Brewerkzâ??s defense, unfruitful unfortuanely. In the mean time, Brewerkz launched a new attack on the left, cross to the center, uncovered player in front of our goalie Richard, goal for Brewerkz.

Latini did not let go and multiplied the attacks, from the left with Gaetan, from the right with Andres, and from the center with Mehdi and Olivier. Finally the equalizer came quite rapidly on a center from the right, header by Olivier, Brewerkzâ??s keeper without gloves misses the ball, goal.

Second half, Latini decided to put some order at the back and play with one more defender. Funnily, Latini became the most dangerous team during the first 15 minutes. An open occasion missed by Latini forwards turned sour 2 minutes later when the ball is lost in the middle, counter attack by Brewerkz, goal by Brewerkz.

Latini decided to put pressure to equalize, a couple of good occasions and nice play finally gave a fantastic opening, Latini forward in the box in front of the keeper and â?¦ tackle without touching the ball. The referee whistles penalty, and of course a red card should be given as the last man was passed. But wait, the ref goes to his lineman, comes back and gives the foul to Brewerkz for allegedly diving, and a yellow card to Latiniâ??s forward. I guess in the end it is almost a fair outcome with no penalty given either side, but these strange means are beyond my comprehension of football.

Latini created a couple more occasions, but Brewerkz defending well. Close to the end every foul led to a Brewerkz player kicking the ball 50 meters away to gain time, and of course Latiniâ??s hot blood led to some mouthful exchanges with a red card (second yellow cards) being given for stupid reasons when the first sanction has never been rightfully given.
