Casuals Prevail in Scorcher
As he walked into the changing room, Greg stated that his car temp gauge was 37degC, a furnace of a day in the Serengeti-like psa for the 3pm ko encounter versus Hibs.. n

Casuals started with the same side who played so well last week. Within 5 mins a good early ball from Ben found Mooney, who turned and fired home. For a while the game rather meandered as Casuals struggled to play with the urgency required to drive through their advantage, that was until a good cross from Paul was nodded home by Mooney. Tom had a good chance to extend the lead but the keeper saved and was 2 at the break.

n

Second half and the Reds introduced the hard running Gordon Cyr who was immediately into the game setting up 2 chances for Mooney who didn’t covert and Mooney returned the compliment for Gordon who did. The weather took its toll on both sides in the second half but the Casuals had the better fitness and it started to show with the Casuals making a host of chances, Mooney scored another 2, his fourth from a good run and cross from Greg and Mal completed the scoring in the final minute.

n

Casuals prevail but the brutal conditions made it not a lot of fun for anyone...
