After last week poor performance, the team was up for a good game against my French fellows. It was quite important for us to start the game well and to get the confidence back immediately. 

We scored 5 goals in 1st half and the game was quickly wrapped, I believe it was less than 15 minutes to get our 3 first goals of the day clinically converted by McCarvel. Donovan also created a few good chances and convert 2 of them. 

Having said that it was not a fantastic display, but with a 3pm kick off, it was burning hot and both teams were struggling. Coach gave direction to keep going in second half and try to keep possession more and stretch the game in the burning sun. 

Well it was not done. 2nd half pretty poor from our side even though we were never in danger. A poor clearing will give perfect opportunity to the Gaulois to score a goal in the dying minutes, and they took the chance. 5-1 at final whistle. 

MoM goes to Anderson for another great display in the middle of the park. It was by the way Anderson last game. We will all miss you mate, you have been outstanding and such an asset on the pitch, but most importantly a great friend to all of us over the past few years.

The referees were all 3 not at level at all. No major wrong decision having impact on the game though, but it is lucky both teams played in a good spirit. These 3 referees can't take a top league or cup game before going to basic ref training...

It is frustrating to see so many wrong calls on throw in, goal kick vs.corner kick, off sides or lack of sensitivity and understanding when asking an injured player to get off one side of the pitch to be substituted while he is already off the other side, or not allowing players to drink while it is a burning hot 3pm ko...common sense should prevail not rules. 

Well it is just another poor day for the referees, but it seems to happen more and more often. Surely Ganesan is working on this issue because I don't think we would be the first team to raise this issue.
