Hotspurs tamed by the Lions
On the padang for a grand encounter between two very good footballing teams with class players in different shapes and sizes gracing the field. The match seen the SCC dominate that is after a shaky 10 min start but still was not playing to their best and the game was at times scrappy but also in patches shown glimpes of good football. The Hotspurs were always in contention for sure but lacked any real cutting edge in the final third to really panic our defenders as set pieces were their only real threat in the first half.
When SCC played the ball easy and through midfield, we got our first from a clever ball from Rogo who got Nahar in from 20 yds cut inside and unleashed a super strike to make it one nil. The second came from a great run from David on the left who played in JP then got it back and struck a wonderful top corner across teh keeper goal.
The second half seen chance after chance go begging for the SCC and seen Hotspurs have a a couple of glorious chances to get a goal back but thank the footballing gods, this never materialised and finally the SCC got the third from a good phase of play which seen sub JD chest and strike to finish the game. Good impact from the subs who came on and added value to the team so well done.
No incidents and overall a pleasing game from the SCC even though the game never really wooed the support on the sidelines.
