With five key players missing Kelso, Kadir, Jason and of course the recovering Alex plus Jamie doing a cross country, a very wet Turf City was all we needed to consider this game no formality. Thankfully, we responded in just the right way with superb tempo and accurate passing, scoring six goals in a first half that equalled any 45 minutes I have seen the ISA Lions play. First James Tranter steps up with a dipping volley from outside the box, superb goal and then Chalky, yes Chalky again 2 goals now in his entire career, got to say if it wasn't for an awesome performance by our skipper for the day Macca, Chalky would have got the MOM. He didn't put a foot wrong marking players who are in their teens. Next up we finally got a striker on the score sheet, Faz collecting his 3rd of the season, then James Tranter gets his 2nd....what is going on????? Further goals from Gavin who did a great job on the right and Buffy, easily the most pleasing goal from my point of view, even if he missed cued it, it was good to get one of our most consistent players off the mark. The second half was a much tighter affair as the Dutch upped the anti in the centre midfield and made things much more difficult for us, Faz got the seventh from a free kick, listening to me for once the ball skated across the wet surface, the keeper made a brave attempt but the balls slipped through his hands and into the goal, just inside the post. The 8th was a great individual effort by Kenchi, coming on as a sub and playing his second game of the day, he made his way past 3/4 defenders an tucked the ball into the far corner. Spare a thought for our main striker Bing Bong(why do we call him that)he claims he made all 8 goals but he didn't score once and hit the cross bar for the 3rd game running.
