Honours even in water polo dual
When I wandered over to the pitch on Saturday I thought it was strange that our players were warming up behind the goal. When I reached the pitch all was to be revealed, boots off water wings on. In one half of the field I watched Big Michael the Vikings gaffer putting his entire strength into a pass that travelled no more than 20 metres when it suddenly stopped in the middle of the lake. This was a great disappointment since two footballing sides could not take each other on, it was a lottery. Our debutant goalkeeper Jason had a memorable start stopping several one on ones as we had to defend the worst end first. At the break it was a slngle goal advantage  to the Vikings who could have had more. The second half also went with the conditions, so the Lions had the upper hand, a fortunate equaliser made the score 1-1. A superb effort by both teams..
