Gaulois vs latini
From Coach JB:
Game took place on the fantastic SSS pitch.
Gaulois were missing three key players but substitutes were up to the coach expectations. From the start Gaulois were well in place and were pressing Latini to prevent them to develop their game. Gaulois would get the opener after 20mn when a free kick well played by Ben was deflected by a Latini defender. Latini did not seem in a good day and showed unusual inaccuracy in their last passes. They would still manage to even the game after a free kick , the ball reaching their unmarked striker. But OG would not give up and a good passing sequence would see Christophe T giving the lead to Gaulois. This would really upset some Latini players who started to use a more physical approach to the game, with very tough contacts that should have got them more yellow cards and even some red cards. But Gaulois manage to stay calm despite being provoked. Latini would get the equalizer a few minutes before the end of the first half.
The second half would start on the same tempo but OG played more defensively and try to create some counter-attacks. In the meantime Latini would have more structured attacks and would get a couple of clear chances. Our GK Thong would once again reassure the team with some decisive saves and a great game. One of the Latini players would take advantage of a high ball that Thong was about to grab to give kick him with his elbow on purpose. Once again that should have been a red card . Towards the end, Gaulois were unlucky has their last sub KArim got injured so the team has to end the game with only 10 players on the pitch. LAtini would get the decisive goal 5mn before the end.
The result doesn't reflect the game, and a tie would have been fair. Congrats to Gaulois who confirmed they did not deserve to be at the bottom of the league table.
Referees had a good game overall but should have given more cards to really calm down some nervous Latini players.
We regret the attitude of those players, given that the Latini team is a great football team, that doesn't need that kind of attitude to win a game. But maybe they entered on the pitch thinking it would be an easy game and showed too much arrogance towards Gaulois.
