Star – Azran, Bowden, Wells, Goerojo – Daud (Girault), Rogers, An, Alonso (Sutton) – McCarvel, Hutcheon
Game of the day on the Padang vs. Nippon, for what is always a competitive game. Nippon team is usually pretty fit and dangerous with fast counter attack.
n5pm kick-off and tired legs for most of the SCC players, especially the left winger ones, after playing all Saturday in the SCC Soccer Sixes Tournament. The pitch was in perfect condition after the previous day rain and games which is remarkable work from SCC staff.
nThe game started very well for SCC indeed and a good move from the right lead Hutcheon to the opener with a powerful strike from the edge of the box, 5’ 1-0 SCC. The lads in yellow were displaying a nice passing play, going wide and getting good crosses in but at time were looking to finish too quickly, rushing through the centre which lead us in missing opportunities and the last pass was not always accurate.
nNevertheless we managed to score two more goals before half time, with McCarvel’s header from a corner kick and soon after, similar corner kick from the left saw Hutcheon’s header saved on the line… by the defender hand. Red card and Daud to make no mistake converting the penalty kick, 40’ 3-0 SCC.
nHalf time talk by coach and captain was about 2 main points: 1. building our attack slowly keep possession and not rushing anymore therefore more goals will come; 2. left winger lack of fitness…
nThe two main points discussed at half time were immediately effective indeed and the left winger was replaced after a few minutes so that problem was fixed. Next to this the team took time to build the passing game with confidence, keeping possession and we managed to score 5 more goals in second half. All in all it was a great display once more at the Padang for the lads in yellow, and better finish this half.
nCredit to Nippon who never gave up and tried their best all game, even playing with 1 man down for an hour. Thanks and wish you the best for the remaining of the season.

The game was played with great spirit and the fans and wags in the stands enjoyed. Beside the fact that they were in late, the referees were excellent. Thanks.

MoM is a goes to McCarvel, for his 4 goals and his hard work as right winger 1st half and striker 2n half! The glue made the trick!
