Reds Fight Back
A fine day on heavy but better than expected surface for the game versus the Swiss at Thompson Road.n

Casuals lined up with a change in formation - and although looked good going forward were frequently caught out at the back, not least by runners from midfield.. Casuals despite good goals on the break from Tom and Marc, and a number of other decent opportunities found themselves 3-2 down at the break.

n

A change in formation for the second half and the Casuals immediately looked a more solid unit.. The Swiss unable to break the Casuals down and the Reds looking as threatening as before in attack… No goals until a great ball from the left from Doug found Mad Dave who headed home.. The Casuals playing with excellent balance and width with Marc and Gordon on both flanks, continued to press but as the game headed to the close, Mal found Mooney who drilled home. A good move led to Gordy crossing to Tom to complete the scoring.

n

The game was marred by a fractuous conclusion with a number of players losing their cool and the Swiss number 12 sent off for a reckless stamp on Peel, leaving him with nasty cuts on his foot but thankfully nothing worse.

n

A good win for the Reds who showed great spirit against a Swiss side who with this showing could be a Top 3 outfit.
