This writer had missed the team photograph we were expected to don our different national team replica,all through the week i was pondering what the veteran of the team (ken)was going to wear, since we were not expected to put on ice hockey jersey.

That aside,i will come back later to the issue of replica jersey,the game started on a good note ,Rangers were dominating play with Christian d' Angelo sending those excellent probing passes to out front-men,the passes were causing all kinds of problems for the Germans.I went back to the archives and discovered that the only trophy i won since i joined Rangers was the plate cup and surprisingly it was the Germans we met in the finals about four years ago.

So the question was,was lightening going to strike twice, but against the run of play the Germans breached our defense and scored a well worked goal(Shane) had lost possession in a crucial zone,he made up for that mistake with a resounding performance.We were undaunted and unruffled by the goal,we had the ball twice in the net but they ruled out.our equalizer came through a free kick by Toddy who struck the bar and a follow up header by Pierre was eventually scrambled into the net by the evertonian Blacky who had his missus cheering..

Inside of me i knew there was no way we were going to lose this game,with the effective metronomic movement of the young ex Barcelona prodigy who was doing a Xavi and Iniesta show in the middle of the park,i learnt later that he graduated from "la masia", Busque was spraying passes left right and centre so we were in control of the game,so it was a question of time before we scored more goals ,for the first time we saw Ozzy use his brain very well, with an intelligent telling cross there was no way naughty Chris could miss that.

The third and final goal came through Suichi,it was a screamer and the game was completely killed off at this point.

  We wish the Germans better luck next time,to be fair Rangers were the better side so the trophy is well deserved after a torrid season we have had,there shouts of ole ole ole ole.

Rangers must be commended for being a true representation of the united nations,in the midst of the celebrations i asked Ken about his Canadian replica,he brought a Canadian rugby jersey to add fun to the celebration.
