Marvels in the Mud
Before I begin, I would like to commend the players of both sides for trying to play football on a difficult surface and for providing one of the most entertaining games of the season. Indeed, it was not only entertaining the game was a battle as well, with some really tough exchanges, notable therefore that there was not a single booking in the game.
The ISA Lions for once started with a spring in our step and for the first 20 minutes really took the game to Hotspurs, I think the tempo and our passing caught them on the back foot for a while, a period which saw Bing Bong miss 4 good opportunities, yes 4. He did redeem himself later!! We also found Neil in fine form, sod loves playing against us. Slowly, the Hotspurs started to get into the game and whilst Buffy was causing them plenty of problems on the right with quick counter attacks they started to create a few opening of their own. We took the lead however, when Faz found himself one on one with the Neil, this time we managed to find. the net. Unfortunately, we didn't make the break with a clean sheet in tact and so we felt a bit hard done by given the chances we had squandered. The second half was a different story, Hotspurs having the better of the half and missing a few chances, meanwhile we again found Neil difficult to beat, that was apart from an excellent free kick from Bing Bong, yes he gets the difficult one's great goal mate!!! Shortly after I made a massive tactical mistake. I was worried that Macca and Jamie who had played magnificently might tire against three men from Hotspurs, so with our noses in front I took off striker Faz and put a fifth man in midfield......big mistake, it was too early and it invited Hotspurs on. Five minutes later the scores are level and I quickly go back to 4-4-2, too late...sorry lads. So it finished 2-2, a game that could of gone either way, our thanks to Hotspurs for a great game, see it for yourself on www.footballopod.com
