The Latini engine is running, finally! A good performance from the Latini squad. A great display and fighting spirit from the Latini Warriors against all the odds. Overall a great team effort and all round solid performance on the pitch. We started a little slow but were overall in control limiting Ubin to long range shots (and they had 2 or 3 good long range efforts, that were well saved by Cuong or just off target). We were happy to welcome Magaud back in the team and he paid us back immediately with a goal 1:0 up after 10min.
This was followed by 15-20min of crazy action and haywire on the pitch, strongly influenced by refereeing decisions: We conceded 2 penalties = 2 goals, both penalties were very harsh both within 5min, 6 yellow cards for Latini for what I don’t know and 1 of those cards a double yellow for our striker. After 35min Latini down to 2:1 and down to 10 players. By now all the odds were stocked against Latini and bookeys were taking 20:1 odds for a Latini win.
Yellow cards - There was some good banter on the pitch but not really any bad or malicious tackles from either side so how there 6 cards dished out for us remains a mistery. Nonetheless Latini started to show some real desire, grit and determination to fight back. Another goal from Magaud who beat the offside trap – 2:2 at half time.
Second half: a great performance from the entire squad, everyone worked hard, good running, good movement and some fantastic football going forward. We created the better chances and had numerous counter attacks. Eventually Magaud gave us the lead 3:2 Latini – Magaud hatrick.
To be honest it could have and probably should have been more. We created some very good chances going forward that should have sealed the game. This was combined with excellent defensive work. The only 2 goals against us came from some very soft penalties. Man of the match has a number of contenders, the back four was solid for most of the game, Olivier Lacour dominated the centre midfield but guess it has to go to Magaud for scoring all 3 goals on his comeback and ensuring Latini took home 3 points.
Thanks to Ubin for a good game, strong tackles and good banter on the pitch, nothing bad, so not sure why there were 8 yellow cards handed out in this game…good luck for the remaining season.
nLatini need to keep the fighting spirit and strong work ethic going if we want to stand a chance of upsetting an in-form Brewerks side next Saturday. Should be a good match…
