Kelly beats the Swiss....
We have now tried three times against Brewerkz this season - but we simply don't have their number....we were beaten three times....

In a first half which was quite evenly balanced in terms of ball possession Brewerkz looked the more dangerous side. Their crisp passing put the Swiss time and again on the back foot. However, had the Swiss taken the lead when Martin Stacher hit the post or Schul-T kept his cool when in a fantastic shooting position, who knows.... But football is all about scoring goals and Kelly only needed one chance to give Brewerkz the lead. A ball into the back of the defender gave the winger acres of space to go down to the line and cross for Kelly to finish coolly. Hakim in goal had no chance. A couple of long range shots from the Swiss were off target and a couple of near misses were all we could show.

Half time and still in the game. To keep it tight for the next 10 minutes and then to push more people forward was the strategy. However, that all came to a sudden halt 2 minutes into the second half, when Kelly, who else, stole the ball from a Swiss defender who had plenty of time to clear the ball. Kelly with the steal and the easiest of finishes. 2:0 and basically game over. The Swiss had a few chances to get back into the game but Christian Buchmann somehow switched off his lateral vision and went for glory himself. The crossbar was in the way and so the score remained at 2:0. With the Swiss now pressing forward Brewerkz was clinical on the break and with a well-taken goal the finished off the Swiss with about 5 minutes to go. 3:0 - a comprehensive win for Brewerkz, fully deserved.

The Swiss will start to win games again (we have now lost 4 of the last 5) when they remember how they won the games in 2009: a quick passing game, more attention to details (marking, short passes) and a bit more passion. Less talking (to the opponent, the referees and team mates), less long, hopeful balls, a less complicated build up and an improved ratio of chances converted to goals.

Man of the match: two contenders really: Hakim in goal who did very well and new recruit Dan Pattton, who moved to Singapore from the big apple. MoM goes to Dan who showed a tremendous workrate and commitment.
