Satisfying end to an average campaign
Germans deservedly finished off Vikings to secure an 8th spot finish, meaning GAS is your typical average Cosmoleague team. Our ambitions were actually to finish among the Top 5, so from that perspective it could be perceived as a disappointing year. Nevertheless, considering the great atmosphere in the team, the many friendships, tournaments and other social activities is has been another great one to be part of.
So this game was at least a good end to the year. The result looks tighter than it actually was with GAS dominating especially in the 2nd half but still allowing Vikings back in the game. Vikings can consider themselves unlucky though about the way the German goals came. In fact all 3 shots by Michael were deflected into the net by a Vikings player, but the goals were nevertheless well set up and earned.
Wouldn't it be for the outstanding performance of their tall and big centre half I'm sure we would have scored more.
A nice game to watch with free-flowing football on both sides, both teams clearly enjoying their last game of the season.

GAS is looking forward to a more successful 2009/10 campaign.
