Unfortunately, the New Year began just the same as the start of the season, far too many key players missing and no goalie. In fairness to Ubin they wanted it much more than we did and they got their deserved 3 points. The playing surface was in excellent condition and our pre-match prep the best for a long while, but, you have to be up for it and with exception of a few bursts in the first half it never looked like happening. having only 2 subs didn't help either, the tired legs in the last twenty didn't have enough to get an equaliser and consequently we conceded a third.
