Lovely day to have a football match here in singapore, cloudy + no rain + 5PM kick off, while tough opponent to have for the first match of the new season, Hotspurs.

n

Likewise, we have some ins and outs on our squads due to company transfers etc., in our case worst part is that lost 3 central defenders and the best part is that

n

found the goalie – with regular attendance. Our new cap, Masa decided to pick up the staring eleven as follows; Kim(GK), defenders from the left Tomo, Hama and

n

Yuki, Kosshi, midfields Yosshi, Masa and Asa, Nao then Yasu and Nishi on the front. We started off well, passing the ball with the move and aggressive chase when

n

the ball is not on our side. Unfortunately, we did not learn very well from the last season – lost out the ball easily and/or gave away two easy goals in mid of the 1st half.

n

But today our squad created some difference, several good opportunities to convert goals. Yasu eventually succeeded the first conversion with blast of left foot volley

n

after many shots on target denied by good save. Yosshi deserved to have second goal in late 1st half when he put the excellent delivery from Asa’s set piece – but

n

denied by unacceptable offside call. In fact both team had lost out a few opportunities by big question marks offside calls today. Pity, is it not? The first half ended 1-2.

n

Had a varieties of substitution today, Fuji, Kinn, Oghi, Take, Andy, newly joined Kogo, long-time-no-see Ota and Taka – decided to go on without change. It looked and worked well until we tied with our second goal in early part of the second half, as Nishi put back on the net when the goalie unable to hold Tanabe’s middle range shot.

n

Great come back from nil two down. Then, Kosshi blasted right foot which almost led the game first time – denied by one hand save and bar…turning point of the game….shortly after, we lost out 2 goals, the one from set piece and the other from their nice built up. Ouch!! We missed out appropriate match up and let somebody

n

done the job. We substituted a few during second half, Kinn IN/Nishi OUT -> Ota IN/Yasu OUT(put Yuki back to FW) -> Taka IN/Kosshi OUT, ended up no more goals.

n

It finished 2-4, bitter result for the first match of the new season and not good to gain no point from this kind of performance but this is the reality. We need to work

n

harder to get better result. Congrats for Spurs, they deserve to chase high end of the table this season again if they continue. And hope we will be ready enough to

n

match up again the later part of the season. Cheers.
