A Fairly Even Match

A good game that was fairly and evenly contested.

First half started with some good football being played by Rangers, however Latini soon got up to speed and the game was on.

The first goal came fairly early unfortunately it was a Latini goal.  A great ball from the right was met well by the ever vocal Latini midfielder who nipped in front of the Rangers defence to head the ball home.

Latini could have doubled the lead after Rangers were caught flat and with a ball to the winger, who subsequently sent a great ball across to the striker at the far post. What seemed like a certain goal was fortunately for Rangers fumbled out of play.

Rangers started to gain confidence and get more of the possession.   The best chance to level the game came just before the stroke of half time, a long ball from Shane deep in the Rangers half found Mario down the right wing who passed nicely to Ozzy whose shot was saved by the Latini keeper.

Early in the second half Rangers drew level after the Latini keeper sliced a back pass into the path of the Mario who calmly put the ball into the back of the net.

Riding on the confidence given by the goal we had a good chance to go one up. Following some good pressure Shane the Ranger central defender pop up in the box and head a loose ball onto the cross bar. This proved to be a bit of a turning point and Latini quickly responded by getting a second goal.

Rangers kept going with some good runs from Kennedy down the left and the ever persistent Ned whose strength and presence was clearly a source of frustration for the Latin players. All was to no avail though as a great strike by Luke gave Latini a third goal and wrapped up the game.

Man of the match goes to Eddie for a solid performance, Winning vital tackles and providing some good distribution throughout the game.
