The Better Team won

It was a top of the table clash at SSS between Vikings and Latini. It has always been some close matches in the past, but this one turned out to be quite different.

Unfortunately Latini were by far the better team on the day and controlled the match from start to finish. Ball-possession was at best 70-30 in Latinis favor, but they didnt create many scoring chances. Latini got the opening goal after some 25mins from their goal getter Oliver Maguad, who suddenly found himself unmarked inside the vikings penalty box. The Latini topscorer made no mistake and calmly chipped the ball passed the onrushing Vikings keeper Eu Jin. 1-0 Latini

We didnt manage to create anything going forward, as our passing and ball control was simply shocking on the day. Either we lost the ball after 1,2 passes or our strikers failed to hold on to the ball. I honestly dont think we had a single shot on goal in the first 45 minutes, which was due to both our own incapabilities and Latinis strong defense, quality passing and good workrate.

Second half wasnt much different from the first. It was all Latini, though we had more possesion in the first 20 minutes of this second half. We had a goal disallowed due to offside, which was indeed a beauty from MOM Christian Fallesen. Latini scored the 2-0 goal shortly after, which basically secured the win. We still tried to push forward and Soren Dyne Larsen came close with a low shot, but it was saved at the goal line. Instead Latini sealed the deal after a good counterattack, which made it 3-0.

Guess this can be considered as an off-day for Vikings, as we lost a important step towards finishing in the top 3. Nevertheless it's still all to play for in the remainder of the season and Vikings will surely be ready to redeem ourselves this coming Saturday against Nippon.

Heads-up lads - we lost to a better team, but we can play better and need to show more PASSION and WILLINGSNESS to win - let's make a quality performance next weekend.

Thanks to Latini for match played in good spirit
and thanks to the refs, who had a decent match.

Cheers,
